Logical Database Name (-ld)

Use Logical Database Name (-ld) to assign the logical name to a database. If you omit this parameter, Progress uses the physical database name (without the path or .db suffix).

logical-dbname

The logical database name.

The name must be a valid identifier, which means:

It can be up to 32 characters long.
It can be any combination of English letters and numbers, underscore (_), and dash (-) characters.
The first character must be an uppercase or lowercase letter.

A logical database name cannot include Progress 4GL reserved words, a space, any accented letters, or the following special characters:

\ " ' * ; | ? [ ] ( ) ! { } < >
